Practice Exit Drills In The Home E.D.I.T.H.

Everyone should have an exit plan in the event of a fire in their home and/or work place.  You should practice this plan with your family at least twice a year.  You should know two ways out of every room in your house and work place.  Make sure you know how to get out of the building if your first way is blocked by smoke or fire.  If you can't get out you need to know what to do.  NEVER HIDE, GO OUTSIDE!!!

Once you are outside you need to have a family meeting place.  Once you are all there, you need to know who to call 9-1-1.  Tell the operator your address, phone number, name and what the problem is.  If you are trapped in the house, call 9-1-1 if you can safely get to a phone and let the dispatcher know where you are.
